Flagyl
For Oral SolutionThe recommended adult dose for treatment of metronidazole-induced gastric ulcers is 750 mg taken on the first day of treatment and is gradually increased to a maximum dose of 1,000 mg daily for 7 days. The dose should be taken in the morning. It is not recommended to take metronidazole for more than 7 days in children and adolescents, except under the guidance of a doctor. The treatment should be stopped at the first appearance of any symptoms of ulcers.
Metronidazole can be taken with or without food, but the tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. The tablets should not be chewed or crushed. The tablets should not be split, crushed, or chewed. The tablet should be taken with or without food.
